To say Staratraxn Chances Are, better known as Stellar, is a battler, would
be an understatement.
Stellar was one of 10 puppies born to Peja & Millie and was quickly welcomed into the Staratraxn family. Stellar was the third female puppy born and got the yellow ribbon, soon to become the golden one.
Stellar’s first show was at Blacktown, their very first show at the new facility and she got Best Baby of Breed. The following day we travelled to Morisset, and the poor little mite was sooooooo car sick I thought of withdrawing her. But the little trooper quickly recovered and went on to win Best Baby in Show. Stellar was VP2 in her first Specialty at the NSW Rottweiler Club October show when she was just over four months.
Sadly Stellar got more than fancy ribbons in her very short show career, she also contracted Parvo. But once again this little trooper fought hard and beat this horrendous virus. That would be the shod of it for most puppies but this poor darling ended up with three massive abscesses on her throat the most ghastly sight one could ever imagine, a reaction to the drugs needed to save her precious life. Still she overcame this and we took her back home to the love of her family and buddies. You would think this would be more than enough for a five month old baby Rottweiler but not Stells Bells, because I had to take her back to our Vet to determine why the tiny sore on the back of her neck wasn’t healing. Imagine my horror when she was diagnosed with Dermoid Sinus, a congenital affliction that would have meant the end of life for her if it wasn’t for the most fantastic Vet I have ever met. He has experienced Dermoids before and was able to save the life of our little baby yet again.
Sandra Craig fell in love with this special little girl and together we campaigned her to become Australian Champion Staratraxn Chances Are on 1 April 2006, just weeks before her second birthday.
